Customer Reviews
Are your hearing aids easy to use?
Yes, very easy to use and manage via a very useful app which helps.
What would you miss hearing if you forgot to wear them?
Mostly conversation in a crowded area but most particularly TV -- I grab for the remote to ensure I can have the subtitles on! The main TV does have a TV Bluetooth adaptor which broadcasts sound directly to the hearing aids. This is very useful and the app helps select the mix of TV amplification and background conversation
In what situation do you most rely on your hearing aids?
TV and conversation in noisy areas with droning background noise
What made you originally decide to book an appointment for a hearing test in the first place?
Not hearing any conversation in a restaurant with friends and having to have the subtitles on during TV shows (which I still do unless I'm tuned into the TV adaptor)
If you have a problem with your hearing aids, is it easy to make an appointment for it to be dealt with?
Yes very easy.
Is there any other feedback you would like to add about your hearing aids or my hearing care service?
I'm amazed at how thorough you are with the service -- I've been to several audiologists prior to seeing you and they were not overly helpful especially at annual check-up time. It's a relief to know my ears are in good hands, so to speak.
Are your hearing aids easy to use?
They are very easy to insert and use
Do you wear them every day?
Dawn to dusk!
What would you miss hearing if you forgot to wear them?
Many things!
In what situation do you most rely on your hearing aids?
I use to lip read but this is not possible in group situations and I rely then totally on my hearing aids. Also on the telephone they help enormously.
What made you originally decide to book an appointment for a hearing test in the first place?
My lack of hearing was becoming noticeable both to me and others.
If you have a problem with your hearing aids, is it easy to make an appointment for it to be dealt with?
It is very easy to contact Sam at Hearing Matters and the response is always great.

What made you originally decide to book an appointment for a hearing test in the first place?
I knew I needed to do something, put it off for a while as didn’t want to admit I was having a problem, but right from when I got the hearing aids fitted I went back to my car and I had to turn down the volume on the radio as it was too loud. I have never regretted getting my hearing aids and would be lost without them
If you have a problem with your hearing aids, is it easy to make an appointment for it to be dealt with?
Extremely easy, I have recently had an ongoing problem with my ears, had antibiotics and swab tests at the Doctors, but unfortunately my ears were blocked with wax which hid an infection which the nurse was unable to see. I was consequently given an appointment for the next day, where we discovered the infection was hidden because of the hard wax in my ears

I have been incredibly lucky to have such a good relationship with Sam, was so happy that I went to her from the start of my journey with hearing aids, she has always been extremely supportive and helpful, I really couldn’t have had better treatment, feel very blessed to have her in my life.

Professional, fantastic service
We recently took our daughter to see Sam as her hearing has always been an issue. Sam's manner with the kids was fantastic, she explained what she was doing clearly and concisely. She even explained the results so clearly my 9 year old understood! We now have a referral to ENT and Sam has been in contact since our appointment to make sure my daughter was ok following wax removal and to see if we had any further questions. Wouldn't recommend anyone else. Thanks Sam!

I can hear clearly now!!
I came across Hearing Matters in our building and met with the owner to book a well overdue ear test/microsuction. I can highly recommend Samantha - extremely knowledgeable, polite and down to earth. Her understanding of my issue was very well respected and acknowledged and even fixed! I can hear clearly now and would highly recommend to visit with any hearing issues you may have 10/10

Having had hearing aids fitted by Samantha Fairchild previously, I sought her out when she set up Hearing Matters (Maidstone). I have found that the skill of the audiologist is more important than the hearing aids themselves, no matter how advanced the hearing aids are. Sam listens, she has the skill to recommend the right equipment, and her aftercare is attentive.

I recently had a check up with Samantha for an on going issue from a previous career. It had been causing me some concern for quite some time and Samantha wasn't only incredibly professional but also very understanding and reassuring. I couldn't recommend her enough if you have concerns with your hearing and look forward to being looked after by you, Samantha, going forward. Superb service.

I booked a hearing appointment with Sam as I am getting on a bit and wanted to make sure my ears were working properly. I must say that Sam made a thorough examination of my ears, performed a detailed hearing test, and gave excellent advice following the results. I thought the test and advice was excellent value for money, and a small price to pay for peace of mind regarding my hearing. I would thoroughly recommend Sam's services.

I could not fault the professional treatment I received from Samantha. I have learned more from Samantha about my hearing loss and my ears and their workings in the hour I was with her, than in the last 17 years since first needing hearing aids. She is extremely knowledgeable on her subject and likes to ensure her patients benefit from this. She is both kind and friendly. The real deal.

I first went to Sam after having a less positive experience with a national high street practice. Sam's independence came across right from the start which made me feel confident and trusting in her diagnosis and recommendations. She has made it very clear that the most important thing was to find a pair of hearing aids that work for me, in the circumstances that I deal with every day. We did this through trial periods with hearing aids with a number of meetings to tweak the settings.
I'm very pleased with the support and expertise I have received from Sam. My consultations with her and the outcomes has made me wish I had taken action much earlier.

Samantha is a very pleasant Audiologist. She has a character that makes you feel comfortable throughout the appointment. She takes you through the tests etc very carefully making sure you understand each step before moving on to the next one. At the end of the checks she gives an honest appraisal of your hearing and if necessary, without any pressure, recommends new hearing aids. I am very pleased with my new aids. Thank you Samantha.
